Dr. The High Court canceled 6 more cases against Yunus

Interim government chief advisor Professor Dr. The High Court canceled 5 cases against Muhammad Yunus and one defamation case filed by the Labor Court.

A copy of the order in the case was published on Thursday, November 21. Earlier on October 24th, the High Court bench led by Justice AKM Asaduzzaman gave the order.

Dr. Yunus’s lawyer Barrister Mostafizur Rahman Khan said, Dr. as the chairman of Gramin Communication. Muhammad Yunus and Grameen Communications managing director Nazneen Sultana were sued by an employee of Grameen Communications in 2019, alleging illegal dismissal. There are five such cases in total. All five have been cancelled.

Mostafizur Rahman said, our argument was that the proposed trade union application has already been rejected by the Labor Department. Therefore, there is no scope for saying that they were fired for being members of the proposed trade union. They were on contract basis. The contract has expired. The Labor Department has the jurisdiction to file a case in this case. They complained to the Labor Department. However, the Labor Department did not file any case.

Regarding the case of defamation, he said, in 2011, the joint secretary of Jasdar and member of the Mymensingh District Bar Nazrul Islam Chunnu. Filed a defamation case against Yunus. During an interview with AFP in 2007, Dr. Muhammad Yunus is accused in the case of saying that ‘politicians of Bangladesh do politics for money, not for public interest’.

Barrister Mostafizur Rahman also said that we were applying to the High Court to cancel the cases. The High Court issued the rule. On October 24, the cases were canceled by declaring the rule proper.

According to the court order regarding the defamation case, this case was done by Dr. The plaintiff in the case used the court for the purpose of harassing Muhammad Yunus.

Dr. Labor Court. Regarding the five cases against Yunus, it is said that the plaintiff has wasted the time of the court by doing these cases. Not only that, these cases have been filed without following due legal process. And that is why these five cases were dismissed.
